How to become a Drug Inspector?  

One has to follow the following given steps to become a Drug Inspector

Step 1

Interested candidate has to appear in an Entrance Tests conducted by the various state governments (like HPTU SLCET by HP Government) and independent Pharmacy institutes for providing admission to B.Pharma or D.Pharma courses.

The exam is objective type and tests you rigorously in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Since negative marking is the rule here, the test is extremely competitive.

Separate test are conducted by some of the highly rated medical institutions. These exams are generally held in the month of May-June and consist of Objective type questions on the subject of English, Physics, Chemistry; Biology though number of questions and pattern may vary from test to test.

The results of these exams are generally out by June/July.

Step 2

After completing this 4 years degree course candidates can opt for the M.Pharmacy course. Again one has to take entrance exam like GPAT to get into some good institute for Master’s in pharmacy to do specialization in one of the specific branch of study.

Step 3

After completing two years of M.Pharmacy course the aspiring candidates can sit for an Entrance Exam conducted by UPSC, Staff Selection Commission or various state service selection boards (although eligibility condition for taking these exams is Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or related field) to be selected as a Drug Inspector in State Government enterprises.
